The recent flood that affected our community was devastating, causing destruction and leaving many families in vulnerable situations. In the face of this tragedy, our company quickly mobilized to assist the victims. The solidarity and commitment of our employees were essential for us to carry out significant and impactful work.
The Passo Fundo team took the initiative to manage the funds raised through donations, organizing themselves efficiently and strategically to maximize the impact of the aid. In collaboration with the local parishes, we identified the most needed items for the affected families. A thorough survey was conducted to ensure that the donations met the real and immediate needs of the displaced.
With the resources in hand, our team purchased various essential items, including food, potable water, clothing, and personal hygiene products. Additionally, recognizing the importance of a clean and safe environment for the recovery of families, we acquired a series of cleaning materials, crucial for the removal of debris and mud left by the flood. Among the items purchased were:
47 wheelbarrows: Essential tools for transporting debris and facilitating the cleaning of affected areas.
40 shovels: Used for removing mud and accumulated debris from homes and streets.
40 hoes: Essential for digging and cleaning up plots of land.
80 large brooms: For sweeping and cleaning large areas efficiently.
50 or more wooden squeegees: Used to push water and mud out of houses.
40 pairs of gloves: To protect the hands of volunteers during cleanup work.
20 pairs of PVC boots: Ensuring that volunteers could work safely in flooded areas.
In addition to distributing these materials, our team also organized cleanup efforts, where volunteers joined forces to help recover the hardest-hit areas. Community participation was inspiring, demonstrating the power of unity and cooperation in times of crisis.
